Wicked Kitchen Joins Ahimsa Companies to Propel Plant-Based Industry Growth

Wicked Kitchen, a global plant-based food manufacturer known for its chef-created foods, along with its associated brands Good Catch and Current Foods, has joined Ahimsa Companies. This strategic consolidation aims to strengthen the plant-based sector and drive greater accessibility to animal-free consumer packaged goods (CPGs).

A Shared Mission for a Sustainable Future

Ahimsa Companies, dedicated to removing animals from the global food system, is spearheading an industry-wide consolidation effort. This initiative is designed to create opportunities for vertical integration and scale, ultimately benefiting the entire plant-based food sector. By uniting leading brands, Ahimsa aims to leverage collective strengths to foster growth and stability within the industry.

“Wicked Kitchen is proud to join the Ahimsa Companies,” said Pete Speranza, CEO of Wicked Kitchen. “We are aligned in our mission, and we believe that Wicked Kitchen is stronger today and better positioned to serve the health and environmentally conscious consumer who does not want to sacrifice on taste or convenience.”

Strategic Importance of Consolidation

The plant-based food industry has faced challenges in recent years, including crowded product categories and a downturn in investment funding. Industry leaders have identified consolidation as a crucial strategy for overcoming these challenges. By bringing brands together under one umbrella, Ahimsa Companies aims to harness synergies and enhance the overall competitiveness of the sector.

Matt Tullman, Group CEO of Ahimsa Companies, emphasized the importance of this approach: “We’ve said all along that consolidation will drive success for the plant-based industry. As Ahimsa Companies brings together more brands, it can leverage this strength to help stabilize and shape the new landscape for the plant-based industry.”

Looking Ahead

Ahimsa Companies plans to acquire additional brands and businesses related to manufacturing and sales enablement in the near future. This strategy is expected to further enhance vertical integration and resource leveraging, building momentum for the plant-based industry.

This consolidation not only supports the category’s expansion but also enhances accessibility for consumers seeking delicious and sustainable food options.
